Totally agree. Add in the veil of security they have from hiding behind a screen name and it’s the adult version of bullying. I bet these people would never have the audacity to say such horrible things to my face. I omitted the really vile comments that directly attacked kids.

Wow, yeah even my blood curdled at those remarks. This is something that REALLY has been on my mind as I throw myself out into the public eye more and with very personal topics too. I’m starting a postpartum weight loss vlog. Hatred. Trolls. Opinions. And all in my FACE… in my ‘private’ territory, blaring at everyone who scrolls down. Misery loves company, too. One thing I’m sure you have learned is to scrutinize what the reporter is writing on exactly, explain what you expect it not to be and never put out there something you wouldn’t want your worst enemy to see. Reporters (especially CNN) love hype. They also like to trick people into giving it up unsuspectingly. Also take into consideration WHO CNN is. Ever scroll the comments of anything child related on their website, or any news article for that matter? It’s full of whackos. People *love* to beat up on parents. I’ve noticed the trend over the past few years.
I have submitted news material to CNN a few times (I’m an iReporter) and was interviewed a couple of times but mostly for small stuff like weather related footage.
I’m glad you can swallow your pride and laugh about it openly! I have 7 kids and I get those negative “you should have your kids removed for not buying them all Toys-R-us every month” comments once and a while. It stings but in the end, they are all unhappy trolls while we are snuggling our kiddos with their sticky mugs and graham cracker grins.

I received my first Binswanger card this year in 2011. It’s truly amazing, peislly now seeing the history and tradition. The blue and red bandanas have gang connotation in LA, which adds an unintended layer of humor. But I love the card

Haha! My boy/girl twins are now 7 (and a half: yes, I am counting the half) and people STILL ask if they are …IDENTICAL!!!
Shocking, really.
Even without a general knowledge of genetics and or/reproduction, don’t people at least have a basic working definition of IDENTICAL?!

Hey, CNN Is a big deal! Congrats. I had my own moment of “infamy” when I was listed as a good model of a “stupid mommy blog”. I was so, so proud… People can be even stupider and crasser when they have the computer screen to shield them.

Don’t take any of this to heart Julie. The age of the internet makes it so easy for stupid people to just spit out whatever negative thought that’s in their small little brains and then just hit “post”. I guess they end up feeling superior to the rest of the world when they see their clever
remarks posted in a public forum.
